LOCATION GUIDE
Locations play a big part in determining how your photos look! They set the color scheme & the feel of your photos. Whether you want a sleek city look, a green expansive field, a mountainside full of flowers, or a desert landscape, we have it all in our beautiful state! I've included a few popular locations below, to give you an idea of what you might like!
NORTHERN UTAH - LOGAN TO FARMINGTON
LOGAN MAIN ST.
- Cute buildings, greenery and flowers at nearby Tabernacle
- Good in all seasons, best time for flowers is May - June, and foliage is good until October.
MANUTA POPPY FIELDS
- Flower fields that bloom around end of May/beginning of June. This location does attract lots of people, and parking is limited. Fees have been implemented on/off throughout the years.
OGDEN BOTANICAL GARDENS
- Beautiful, well maintained garden beds with some fun structures
- Best season is April-October
ANTELOPE ISLAND
- Wide open space, some hills, rocks, beach look, water, and a great sunset view
- Requires an entrance fee per vehicle + photo pass fee
- Best season is August - April, before the biting bugs come out
FORT BUENAVENTURA
- Pond with access to canoes, tall trees, dirt walking paths
- Best April - November
RAINBOW GARDENS HILLSIDE
- Green field with trees, sometimes has wildflowers
- Best May - Sept
NICHOLS PARK
- Green field, walking path, tall trees, bridges
- Best April - November for greenery/colors in the fall
MANNING ORCHARD
- Small orchard with pink or white blossoms, depending on which trees are currently in bloom
- Typically bloom around April, and then green trees from April-September
SNOW BASIN
- Mountain views, trees, pine trees, open fields
- This location is snowy Nov-April, green end of May-August, and has fall colors end of Sept to beginning of October.
SALT LAKE VALLEY - BOUNTIFUL TO SANDY
BOUNTIFUL POND
- Trees, open field, little pond - mosquitos are a possibility
- Best for April-November
TUNNEL SPRINGS PARK
- Rolling hills type look, green in the spring/early summer & turns golden in fall/winter, wooden fence, tall reeds, a few trees
- Great for all seasons - I prefer shooting here in the morning with the light behind the hill, but it is also good for sunset.
MUELLER PARK (Bountiful)
- Great spot for fall colors in October - has a dirt trail, paved path, and a bridge
CREEKSIDE PARK (Bountiful)
- Paved pathway, lots of trees, bridge, little creek
- Best April-November
CACTUS & TROPICALS (SLC Location)
- Flowers, greenery, indoor location, $50 location fee
- Great for all seasons, but especially nice in the Winter & Spring when you don't want dead locations

- Flowers, greenery, indoor/outdoor location, $50 location fee
- Great for all seasons, but especially nice in the Winter & Spring when you don't want dead locations
DOWNTOWN SLC
- Tons of options for buildings, colorful backgrounds, parks, etc.
- Great for all seasons

- Mountain views, wildflowers in summer months, water in background
- Great for Summer & Fall
GARDEN PARK WARD
- Greenery, old buildings, cute pathway, pond, lots of greenery and plants
- Great for all seasons
LIBERTY PARK
- Tall trees, open fields, duck pond, greenhouse backdrop, carnival rides
- Great for all seasons
MEMORY GROVE
- Ivy covered walls, cute walkways, bridges, ponds, trees, and structures with columns
- Great for all seasons
MURRAY PARK
- Big trees, flowers, river, bridges
- Great for all seasons
NEFF'S CANYON
- Mountain view, lots of trees and green, allows dogs
- Best June - October
RED BUTTE GARDEN
- Beautiful gardens, tons of trees, plants and flowers, $100 location fee (unless you are a U of U student/employee, or having your wedding here)
- Great for Spring, Summer, & Fall
SALTAIR
- Cream building, tall reeds, beach look. If you walk out far enough, you can get some water
- Best August-April, before the biting gnats and mosquitos come out.
SLC LIBRARY
- Library with tons of natural light & open space, cool outdoor areas with bridges, stairs, and some plants
- Great for all seasons
SUGAR HOUSE PARK
- Big tall pine trees, lots of open field space, little river, duck pond
- Great for all seasons
TEMPLE SQUARE (Salt Lake)
- Lot of flowers, cool architectural details, open space for walking/dancing/etc.
- Great for all seasons, but especially nice in Spring & Summer
THIS IS THE PLACE PARK
- Open fields, different houses to shoot with, $50 location fee
- Great for all seasons
THOMAS S. MONSON BUILDING
- Beautiful white building with columns, nice walkways, and a small yard area with roses
- Great for all seasons, but does require scheduling an appt + a fee if you want a specific time to yourself
UTAH STATE CAPITOL
- Beautiful white/gray marble spaces, large staircases, cool architectural elements outside, tree lined walkway (blossoms end of March/beginning of April), fountain/pond in center of buildings, some mountain views
- Great for all seasons - awesome indoor location in the winter
DAYBREAK
- Variety of looks - walking pathways, lakes, tall reeds, dock
- Great for all seasons, but green from April-September
UTAH VALLEY - LEHI TO SPRINGVILLE
THANKSGIVING POINT
- Beautiful, lush gardens with lots of greenery and flowers. Many different types of structures - pergolas, archways, fountains, etc
- Requires a photo permit
- Best season is April-October
MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS ALONG WASATCH FRONT
SNOW BASIN (Ogden Area)
- Mountain views, trees, pine trees, open fields, yellow flowers end of May
- This location is snowy Nov-April, green end of May-August, and has fall colors end of Sept
ALBION BASIN (Little Cottonwood Canyon)
- Mountain views, pine trees, and wildflowers bloom Mid-July
- Requires a fee per vehicle, limited parking, very busy and crowded during the wildflowers, so be prepared to show up early!
- Mid July -beginning of August for wildflowers, open through mid-September
GUARDSMAN'S PASS (Accessible through Park City or Big Cottonwood Canyon)
- Mountain views, aspens, sage brush, and open field
- Best season is June-August for greenery, and end of Sept for fall colors
JORDAN PINES (Big Cottonwood Canyon)
- Mountain views, pine trees, sage brush, and open field
- Best season is June-September for greenery, Sept-beginning of October for fall colors, and Dec-April for snow. Requires a canyon parking fee.
PARK CITY WHITE BARN
- Big white barn, open field, some mountain views
- Best season is June-October
ROCKY RIDGE (Big Cottonwood Canyon)
- Expansive mountain views, reddish colored rocks, pine tree backdrop. Requires climbing, not recommended for kids.
- Best season is April-October, and requires a canyon parking fee.
SILVER LAKE (Big Cottonwood Canyon)
- Mountain views, boardwalk around a small lake, boulders to climb on
- Best June-October. Requires a canyon parking fee. Not accessible in winter due to cross country skiing path
TIBBLE FORK (American Fork Canyon)
- Mountain views, blue/green lake with beach, pathway, pine trees
- Great for all Seasons. Requires a canyon fee.
DESTINATION LOCATIONS - TRAVEL FEE WILL APPLY
BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS
- Wide open expanse of white salt, some mountain views in the background
- Great location any time of year. When there has been recent rainfall, the flats will be flooded
LITTLE SAHARA SAND DUNES
- Miles of sand, a few trees and sage brush bushes
- Requires an entrance fee per vehicle
- Best season is April-October.
MOAB - ARCHES OR DEAD HORSE POINT
- Red rocks, arches, cliffsides, and overlooks with spectacular views.
- Both spots require an entrance fee
- Best season for great weather + mild temperatures is Mar - May & Sept - Nov. It will be very hot in the summer, and cold/snowy in the winter.
ST. GEORGE / SNOW CANYON
- Classic red rock look of Southern Utah
- Requires a shooting permit + entrance fee per vehicle
- Great for all seasons
ZION NATIONAL PARK
- Classic red rock look of Southern Utah
- Requires an entrance fee per vehicle
