Ashley & Chandler’s first look & formal session took place at beautiful Snowbasin in Ogden, Utah. I need to rewind a little bit though, because just getting to this point, the location, was a lot of work!

We were originally scheduled for Silver Lake up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Just days before our session, mother nature decided to play a joke on us, and snowed! It was the end of September! Ashley & Chandler really really wanted a mountain location, so I suggested Snowbasin. Easy enough, right? Wrong. We were thrown another curveball when we found out there was a big mountain biking race the same day we were supposed to have our session! With some quick research on racing times, we decided to forge ahead! The whole drive up the canyon, I saw ominous rain clouds lurking in the distance, and I said a little prayer to just hold off until we were done with the session!

Chandler wore a navy suit, and added in a bit of personality with his Star Wars tie – which was so rad! But the real showstopper was Ashley! As soon as Ashley told me that her dress was going to be custom, I could hardly contain my excitement! Add to the fact that she was working with local designer, Natalie Wynn, and I knew the dress was going to be amazing! And it totally was! Ashley was a vision in her beautiful cream dress. It fit her like a glove, twirled like a dream, and get this — it even had pockets!! Every girl knows how exciting dresses with pockets are haha!

Their first look was so dang cute, and the whole session went so smoothly! Because when you have a love like Ashley & Chandler’s, everything just flows so beautifully! They laughed and kissed their way through the session, and a good time was had by all!

And remember those ominous clouds? Well, my little prayer worked! As soon as I reached my car and was pulling away, the rain started falling.
