3 Easy Ways to Look Better in Photos Without Spending Any Money

You’ve booked the perfect photographer, scheduled your hair and makeup appointment, and narrowed down your outfit choices. You’re all set for the photo session! Or are you? Here are 3 easy ways to look better in photos without spending any money!

3 easy ways to look better in photos

1. DRINK LOTS OF WATER

You know that beautiful, glowy skin you always see in those Pinterest perfect photos? Besides professional makeup (link), a big contributor to that is how hydrated your skin is! It’s recommended that you drink your body weight in ounces (120lbs = 120oz) of water each day! Not only will the extra hydration make your skin look better, but it will also add some extra shine and volume to your hair!

Do you find it hard to remember to drink water? An easy way to remember to drink more water is to set an alarm on your phone to go off every couples of hours! When it goes off, it’s time to chug! Getting in that extra hydration will have you looking photo ready in no time!

2. SLEEP

Along with drinking water, you need to be getting at least a full 8 hours of sleep every night! Sleep has so many amazing benefits, like helping maintain a healthy weight, memory function, and sustaining your immune system. On top of all that, it will also ensure that you’re in a good mood for your photos!

Having trouble falling asleep? It is recommended that you turn off your phone an hour before bed, and get into the habit of relaxing by reading, meditating, or doing some easy stretches. This will help your mind relax and prepare for a restful night of sleep!

3. BE ON TIME

Nothing ruins photos more than people showing up grumpy and arguing because they were late. The stress will show all over your face, and it will be harder to get those intimate, relaxed and happy shots that I know you want! Allow for extra getting ready time, and tell your makeup artist exactly what time you need to leave.

In addition, be sure you know exactly how long it takes to get to the photo location, and then add a buffer of 5-10 minutes in case of traffic! When you arrive with plenty of time, you can do any last minute touch ups, and focus on how fun the photo session is going to be!
