Once I found out that Courtney and Hyrum are awesome ballroom dancers, I knew we had to incorporate that into their Salt Lake engagement session. We started off in downtown Salt Lake in front of a beautiful, historic building. After some traditional “smile at the camera” shots, it was time for these dancers to show off their moves! They were twirling – throwing – spinning – dipping – the works! It was so much fun to capture! They would tell me the basics of the move, and what part of it that I should captures. I loved seeing all the moves they showed off!

For the second half of their Salt Lake engagement session, Courtney and Hyrum wanted a park with lots of greenery.  Their wedding color is going to a deep green color, so lots of greenery was a top priority! Memory Grove park was the perfect location for this, and we even caught the tail end of spring blossoms!

I loved seeing Courtney and Hyrum’s playful personalities come out during their engagement session, and I got a good feel for Hyrum’s sense of humor. They did some more awesome dance moves, and they were fully dedicated to getting the shot! It was so so hot, but they just kept doing the move over and over until they executed it perfectly! That type of dedication and willingness to try things over and over will serve them well in their marriage!

I had so much fun with Courtney and Hyrum, and I cannot wait for their wedding!
