I first met Shelby and Chaz over a breakfast date. The best meal, if you ask me! I learned all about their love story. How they dated briefly, spent some time apart, and then came back together stronger than ever. They told me all about the house where their backyard wedding would be held, and it sounded magical! I learned that unlike most grooms, Chaz had some particular preferences about this wedding. I loved that! After all, it is as much the grooms special day, as it is the brides!

Shelby and Chaz were married under the canopy of a huge Cottonwood tree, surrounded by their friends and family. There was a stunning arch decorated with roses and garlands of leaves. There was a beautiful bride in a beautiful dress. And there was a handsome groom in a navy blue suit. All the makings for a beautiful ceremony. One thing I really loved about Shelby & Chaz’s backyard wedding was the speeches their fathers gave at the beginning of the ceremony. Shelby’s father, Thad, went first and he talked about the moment he knew Chaz was perfect for Shelby. It was touching to hear him recall. Chaz’s father, Bryan, talked about all the great features the couple possesses.

It was a beautiful ceremony officiated by Shelby’s grandfather. I loved all the family ties they incorporated into it! Shelby and Chaz were all smiles throughout the day,and it was a pleasure to witness. You could tell they were floating on cloud 9 every time they greeted their guests and by the way they laughed easily. Among the gorgeous sprawling yard, there were darling little vignettes set up. A sign-in table, a gift hammock, and pictures wound around the giant tree. The guests dined under a white tent decked out with floral hoops and elegant tall candle sticks. Touches of Shelby’s style were evident through all the decor – classy with a touch of whimsy.

Thank you so much for having me there to capture your special day, Shelby and Chaz! I had the best time meeting all of your family members, and seeing how happy you two make each other. Your love is plain for all to see, and you guys make such a great team.
